At VUB, the initial assignment was the addition of a new application to the portfolio. This application would replace and largely automate the existing enrollment process for students, follow-up on their academic progress, etc.
During the project’s due diligence, it became clear that without an adequately detailed picture of the university’s existing landscape, further steps would only further complicate an already complex ecosystem. A discovery process was started and its major deliverables were detailed ICT & business service catalogs.
Based on the above, a detailed plan was formulated and approved by VUB’s CIO to simplify the existing setup and at the same time add new components such as a new student management application. At that time, VUB made us responsible for executing the plan and to handle ICT operational management responsibilities.
